Hello!  We are the DeLallo's!  We live in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, California, and we would like to introduce ourselves.  My name is Bill, and my wonderful wife's name is Diane.
*********************************************
We were married in August of 1978 in Great Falls, Montana after meeting initially in Powers Lake, North Dakota.  More on how we met...

Diane (Mears) is the fourth child from a family of eight, 6 girls and 2 boys. I am the third child from a family of nine, 5 boys and 4 girls.

At this point in our lives, God has blessed our family with eleven beautiful children, 10 girls and 1 boy.

Things We Do For Fun
DeLallo Family Reunion -2003
July 21-24, 2003
Post Falls, ID
In March of 2003, Joe DeLallo, the oldest son of Joseph and Jeannette DeLallo started formulating a plan to try and get a big DeLallo reunion put together.  Since Joseph and Jeannette DeLallo celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003 (February 14), he felt that this would be the perfect year in which to have this reunion.

*  Hiking and Swimming Fun
~ SheLalloing; a water story of sorts, written by the kids.

Our family has tried to do many outdoor activities together.    We try to go camping at least once a year in and around Lake Tahoe.  Our favorite campsite is the one at Fallen Leaf Lake.  However, we have also gone to the campground at Nevada Beach, which is very nice also.  If we couldn't actually get to a campground, then we would sometimes set the tent up in the back yard and "rough it" there!

Family Photos

*  I am working on compiling a photo album, but not doing to good a job of it.  One of these days (years?) I may actually get some work done on this project.  Stop on by once in awhile to see if I've done anything lately.  I hope to have an assortment of pictures taken over the course of years placed here.  Some will likely be even before we were born!

My brother, David, realized in December of 2004 that his son, Anthony DeLallo, had a pretty nice singing voice.  Anthony was singing in their entertainment room one day when David walked in and heard him.  Anthony mentioned he was practicing a song he was going to sing at the school's annual Christmas program.  The song was an Irish song called "Grace".  The song went over so well that people were crying in the audience because of the beauty of Anthony's voice.
Anthony has since started taking some singing lessons and in 2005, put out his first CD entitled "A Wee Bit Of Ireland".  He will be releasing a Christmas CD in the fall of 2006, entitled "The Gift Of Christmas" which will include "The Virgin's Son"; an original composition by David DeLallo and Randy Wills.  The lyrics were composed mostly by David with some help from Randy Wills, while the music was composed and arranged by Randy Wills.
The next great tenor?

Christmas time at the DeLallo household is a very joyful time.  It generally begins near the first of December when the kids wake up on December 6, to find that St. Nicholas has left a few goodies in their shoes (if they have been good).  Then spanning the next week or so, the older girls begin painting on our outdoor windows, scenes depicting the birth of the Child Jesus in Bethlehem.  This takes up 3 different windows along the front side of the house, where cars may be able to see it when they drive by.
Then a few days before Christmas, Diane and the girls begin baking all of the wonderful Christmas goodies.  Being Italian, these include Biscotti and Pizzelles.
Then comes the finishing touches of all of our preparations.  It is when we make our Gnocchi, and rich sauce a day or two before Christmas!  Maria, our oldest, generally takes care of the sauce by herself.  She has gotten it down pat and the flavor is fantastic. The gnocchi is a family affair as all of the children take some part in it.  If you click here, you can watch a video of the family making the gnocchi in 2006.   (It is a large file, 18 megs.)  You may want to right click the link above, and then select "Save Target As..."  and then save it to your desktop, or in your "My Videos" folder which is found in the "My Documents" folder.  This will download the video onto your computer so that you can do something else while it downloads.  This is especially true for those of us who still have a dial-up connection!
We have had gnocchi & ham as our Christmas Dinner for years.  This tradition is a direct result of my father (Nono) who would invite the whole family over to his house for dinner.  This included the spouses and their children.  Let me tell you, we needed three tables sometimes to accommodate everyone that would make it.
